National Glass Association Foundation

The Friese Foundation is proud to support the National Glass Association (NGA) and the NGA Foundation, dedicated to driving excellence, safety and results in the architectural glass industry through education and training, and advancing the industry as a viable, thriving and exciting career path. Founded in 1948, NGA has continually served the greater glass community since that time.

“We felt there was no area where we could do more for the glass industry, which we really love and care for, than education,” says industry veteran Donald Friese. “We have an opportunity, and more importantly, the responsibility to help companies continue to grow and invest in themselves and their people.”

As a resource for its members and the industry, NGA offers MyGlassClass.com, an online training platform for the glass and glazing industry designed to complement companies’ hands-on training. In collaboration with the Friese Foundation, NGA has made this training available for free to thousands of industry workers.

NGA also offers Glazier Apprentice Curriculum for companies that want to establish a glazier apprenticeship program approved by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Students who complete the curriculum earn a credential from the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) indicating a journeymen-level minimum competency reached through knowledge and performance. Since partnering with the Friese Foundation in 2019, NGA has educated more than 100 glazier apprentices.
